Description:

We are seeking a dependable and respectful Cemetery Groundskeeper to maintain the beauty, dignity, and peaceful environment of our cemetery grounds. This role plays an essential part in ensuring the property is well cared for and presentable for visiting families, services, and the community.

Responsibilities:

  • Mow, trim, and edge lawns; maintain turf and landscaped areas
  • Plant, prune, and care for trees, shrubs, flowers, and seasonal plantings
  • Assist with grave preparation, closing, and marker placement
  • Maintain roadways, walkways, and grounds equipment
  • Remove debris, leaves, snow, and ice seasonally
  • Safely operate and maintain groundskeeping tools and machinery
  • Set up and break down for services and special events
  • Maintain a respectful and professional presence around families and visitors
  • Follow all safety procedures and cemetery policies

Qualifications:

  • Groundskeeping, landscaping, or maintenance experience preferred (not required)
  • Ability to operate lawn and grounds equipment (or willingness to learn)
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Dependable and punctual
  • Ability to work respectfully in a cemetery environment
  • Valid driver’s license preferred

Job Type: Full-Time

Pay: From $19.00 - $24.00 per hour (based on experience)

Schedule:

  • 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday–Friday; Saturdays as needed

Work Environment:

  • This position involves physical outdoor work in all seasons. Candidates must be able to lift, bend, walk, and operate equipment for extended periods.
