Yvonne Constance Sylvestre

Yvonne C. Sylvestre Passed away peacefully on July 10th after a long and wonderful life of 92 years. She leaves a legacy of family and friends, which were the center of her life. A lifelong resident of Hopkins, Minnesota her last six years were spent sharing time, playing cards and welcoming residents at The Glenn in Hopkins. Her family was her life and she was everything you would associate with a mom and grandma - loving, caring and interested in whatever her family was doing. Even in her final days she was concerned that we were getting enough to eat and if there was milk in the refrigerator. A true Mom. She met her husband, Charles, on a blind date at a Halloween party and they were married in 1951. They had been married for 64 years before Charles passed away and were an inspiration and example to all of us on what is really important in life - your family. Together they golfed, traveled and gathered with their many friends. A big part of her life was music and she loved music of any kind. Some of her favorite times were singing harmony with friends in the church choir of which they were members for over 20 years. She hosted family Sunday night dinners for numerous years with kids and grandkids and always had time to dance to "Put on a Happy Face", play a game or catch up on what we were doing each week. Among her greatest gift was the ability to talk and make anyone she was with comfortable and immediately a friend. A gift she has passed along to all of her family. She also was a woman of faith which gave her strength daily and to the end Yvonne leaves behind a legacy of family, five children and their spouses, John (Alice), Jane Barnes (Bob), Jim (Bev), Julie Tapper (Tim) and Jerry (Denise), 15 amazing grandchildren and their spouses and 13 great grandchildren. Per her request they will be named! Grandchildren: Anna, Paul, Joe, Peter, Andy, Pam, Marc, Ryan, Nicole, Bridget, Brandt, Amy, Justin, Claire and Jason. Great Grandchildren: Connor, Willem, Ailie, Maya, Myles, Julia, Lincoln, Lilly, Asher, Henry, Mack, Tate and Brandt Jr. Special thanks to the Park Nicollet Hospice staff and the team at Touching Hearts at Home for the help and care in the final days of her life. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Immaculate Heart of Mary Church Memorial fund in her name. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, July 28, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 13505 Excelsior Blvd, Mtka. with visitation 1 hour prior. Luncheon will follow.
