William "Bill" John Milne

Milne, Dr. William (Bill) Mar 6, 1934-Jul 31, 2025 Age 91, of Roseville, Bill Milne passed away after a seizure, July 31, 2025. He is preceded in death by son, William David; parents, William and Rubye; and brother, William Thomas. He is survived by wife, Beverly; daughter, Lisa (Johnnie) Sowards; son, Robert (Paula) Milne; grandchildren: Adam, Brielle, and Chrystofer Sowards; Lucas Erickson, Larissa (AJ) Allee, and Erin (Erik) Stitt; and sister, Marcia Burger and family. Graduated from Central High School 1952, as senior class president. Attended Macalester College where he met Beverly Adams in 1954 and received his BS - Dentistry in 1958. He then earned his DDS from the U of M in 1960. He married Beverly on August 1, 1959, and then bought a small dental practice in 1960 on University Ave. He later moved his practice to Snelling and Lafond where he practiced until he retired in 1998. Bill was all about family, neighbors, schools, and community. He was involved with neighborhood block parties, school events, Indian Guides, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Y's Men, church opportunities, volunteering, and spending time with friends. He took us on many family vacations including road trips to South Dakota, US Rocky Mountains, Canadian Rockies, northeastern US; Driftwood Family Resort, BWCA, Disney World and California. Locally, he took us boating, skiing, camping, and to the MN State Fair. He continued to enjoy traveling with Beverly following his retirement to Japan, Spain, Italy, Eastern Europe, Thailand, Turkey, China, Ukraine missions, and cruises. Many hours were devoted to his grandchildren including attending sporting events, concerts, award programs, traveling to Bemidji or entertaining them at their house - playing games, wagon rides, walks, exploring in the woods, sledding, building bonfires in the sandbox, and all the birthday parties! He showed up at school and church events to support their education, faith, and growth. Celebration of Life will be held Friday, September 19, at their house, 972 Lydia Dr, Roseville, MN 55113. Informal Visitation begins at 2:45pm and Service at 3:30pm. Celebration Reception starts at 4:30pm. (Burial for family and close friends will be held at 2pm, at Roselawn Cemetery.)
