William "Bill" Jon Kunz

Kunz, William Jon "Bill" of Eden Prairie, MN. Born June 13, 1948 in Bismark, ND and passed away peacefully April 21, 2025. Bill was an energetic adventurer, hard working, fun loving, sweet and kind of crazy man truly loved by many. His brother, sister, many cousins, uncles, aunts, friends, clients, nieces and nephews, all have a Bill Kunz story they cherish. The stories are filled with humor and amazement. He was forever building, refinishing, working on or helping someone with a boat, canoe, car, motorcycle, or trailer. He was an artist in his creations from wood and leather. His wonder and fascination of nature and its beauty was an integral part of his life and he brought everyone around him into its wonder. A life well lived is evidenced in his lifelong relationships with many, many people. He made friends with everyone he met and cherished them all and they adored him. He worked around the "waters of Minnesota" throughout his life. Lake Minnetonka, surrounding lakes and rivers were his favorite places. Being ill was so hard for Bill. He was always strong and fit. He enjoyed 10 months of love, laughter and travel after defying death and reconnecting with Susan who cared for him, loved him, and gave him hope, comfort and happiness. Together they made the absolute best of every day with each other. Bill died at peace in Susan's arms. He was taken from us much too soon. Bill is survived by brother Dick (Ginny) Kunz; niece Jamie Midlo, nephews Mike (Kristy Athens) Midlo, Luke (Susan) Midlo, Garrett Kunz & Adam Kunz; grandniece, Rose Midlo; grandnephews, Leighton Rocheleau, Miles & Wyatt Midlo and, the woman he called his "Angel" Susan Himrod. Preceded in death by sister, Kathy Midlo; niece, Kelly Midlo; parents, Verna (Lutz) and Ervin Kunz and his beloved canine companions who always accompanied him. He's survived by and proceeded in death by too many members of the Kunz Clan and Lutz Family to mention. Family was always important and valuable to him. He knew them all and showed up for everyone. His family near and far will remember him dearly. We will honor his life on May 9th, at 11 AM at St. Victoria Catholic Church (8228 Victoria Dr., Victoria, MN). Father Bob White as Celebrant with his dog, Arlo (as Bill requested). Visitation 10 AM at the church. Luncheon reception immediately following the Mass at Winchester & Rye (7929 Victoria Dr, Victoria, MN).
