Terrence 'Terry' John Lee

Terrence 'Terry' John Lee was born December 6, 1940 in Wabasha, MN, the son of John and Marion (Witte) Lee. He was the oldest of 16 children and grew up on a farm in Kellogg. He always loved the farm and was on a tractor by the age of five. After graduating high school, he attended Dunwoody Institute in Minneapolis and earned a Tool and Die Degree. While living in Minneapolis, he met Karen Gustafson and they wed on November 9, 1963 in Staples, MN. He was a loving father to Julie (Lee) Toedter and Darrin Lee. The family resided in Spring Lake Park where Terry worked as a tool and die maker at Onan/Cummins in Fridley. He retired in 2001 after 32 years of employment. He liked getting out of the cold MN winters and enjoyed 25 years of sunshine in AZ. Terry led a fulfilling and active lifestyle. He loved his church, St. Tim's, and served in a variety of ministries. He had many interests and hobbies: biking, tennis, softball, dancing, hunting, hiking, traveling, playing cards, golfing, ping pong and helping at the farm. His Irish heritage was important to him and he traveled to Ireland twice. His strong faith put God and relationships with people at the center of his life. He loved and was so proud of his children and grandchildren and was very involved in their lives. He was always willing to help those around him and wasn't afraid to tackle any project big or small. From serving at the church soup line each month to donating a kidney to his brother, helping others gave him purpose and joy and many people were touched by his willingness to serve in this way. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Karen of 61 years, daughter Julie (Joel) Toedter; son Darrin (Kristin) Lee; seven grandchildren Joshua Toedter, Jenna (Brenndon) Lebert, Jaydee (Steven) Hartley, Jake (Liz) Toedter, Alecsander Lee, Rachel Lee, Jazlyn Toedter; four great-grandchildren Caleb, Isaiah, Isla, Shiloh; five sisters Kathleen, Paula, Diane, Mary, Barb; eight brothers Ronnie, Tommy, Colin, Dennis, Francis, Robert, David, Jeff, along with their spouses and other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Tim, and infant brother Joseph. Mass of Christian Burial, Saturday, April 12, 11 AM with a visitation one hour before at St. Timothy Catholic Church, 707 89th Avenue NE, Blaine. Private interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Church of St. Timothy.
