Michael A. Hagen Today we express gratitude to our gracious God and Redeemer Jesus Christ for sharing with us the earthly life of Michael Alan Hagen, 59, who passed on to his eternal life on January 30, 2024. Born to Curt and Sharon Hagen in 1964, Mike was one of six kids growing up in a Christian home, attending Trinity Lutheran Church and School in Faribault, MN. The family moved to Bloomington, MN, in 1982, the same year Mike started attending Augsburg College where he earned a B.A. in Business and Marketing. It's here Mike also met his life partner Tamala (Tami) Nelson Hagen. Married in 1996, they had one daughter, Natalie Evelyn Hagen, born in 1999. The love shared between Mike, Tami and Natalie will never expire, but instead carry forward. Mike was first and foremost a devoted husband, father, son, sibling and loyal friend to so many across many different walks of life. His smile was sure to light up any space. As a professional, Mike had a prolific career in commercial real estate and property management. His greatest joy was his time spent serving on the TOBY Committee for BOMA Minneapolis. He was steadfast in making sure his building engineers were well supported in their role. He connected to the outdoors relishing fishing at Camp Okoboji as a child and later with family and friends on the Kinnickinnic River, Rainy Lake, Kabetogama, Loon Lake and Leech Lake. Mike loved duck and upland bird hunting with his dog Sterling and appreciated his time with friends hunting in Canada. Mike loved all sports, including H.S. tennis as a kid and later as a dad coaching MHR grade-school girls basketball, teaching defense. His golf game was always in process. As an all-weather grill master, we savored Mike's grilled oysters, halibut and ribs. One friend recently said, "Heaven got an angel." Mike was servant minded and a devoted Christian parishioner. He served humbly as usher, deacon, choir member, past church treasurer and last summer as the "lunch lady" for vacation bible school. While Mike's smile, humor, constant chatter and untethered generosity will be missed broadly, we his family and close friends are heartened by the welcomed peace Mike is receiving in his eternal home with Jesus and all the fellow saints. Funeral service 10 AM, Saturday, February 17 at Redemption Lutheran Church, 927 E Old Shakopee Road, Bloomington, MN. Lite reception in church gym to follow. Visitation at same location one hour prior to service.
