Meany, Marjorie (Lynch) On Monday, November 2, 2020 Marjorie (Lynch) Meany, passed away peacefully at the age of 90. Marge was born May 9, 1930 in Starbuck, Minnesota. She went on to earn her nursing degree from St. Mary's College and the College of St. Catherine's. She met Dr. Thomas J Meany while working together at St. Mary's Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. It must have been the twinkling Irish eyes that drew them together. On September 10, 1955, they married. Together they raised six children in Columbia Heights, MN. Jane, Kate, Ann, Mary, John, and Megan. During those early years, they also lost twin boys: Thomas and James. Marge was a wonderful mother with her greatest love being her family. Despite this large family, she always made time for everyone. She was a devoted Catholic and could play a mean game of Hearts and Bridge. She laughed often (sometimes at others) but always in fun. She enjoyed winters in St. Augustine on the beach and summers at the cabin in Cross Lake. Marjorie was predeceased by her husband Tom and their son John. Sister Mary Jane Reynolds, and brother Jack Lynch. She is survived by her five children, sister, nieces/nephews, in-laws and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jane, son Thomas, (Kayla), son Andres, Kate Meany. Ann Meany (Lance Henderson) daughters, Siena, and Nyasa. Mary Meany Marshall (Jeff), daughters, Stephanie Foy (Chris) children, Parker, Quinnley, and Brayden. Emily Biagini (Danny), son Vinny. Madeline Marshall. Priya Meany children Indya, Darshen. Megan Meany Tveit (Jerry) daughters Amanda Hericks children Jayden, Elliana. Tiffany Hare (Brandon) children Gracelyn, Andrew, Kyla. Melanie Tveit daughter Aubrielle. Sister, Helen Waddick, children Patrick, Tim and Molly. A public visitation will be held for family and friends on Wednesday, November 11th, from noon-1 pm at Washburn McReavy Chapel 4101 Central Ave. NE, Columbia Heights, MN 55421. Interment at St. John the Baptist, 1150 7th St. NW, New Brighton, MN at 2 pm. A private funeral for family only (due to COVID-19 restrictions). Donations may be made to the charity of your choice in honor of Marjorie Meany. Our family would also like to extend a very special thank you to Waverly Gardens (North Oaks) and their entire staff as well as the Health Partners Hospice team for the care she received. The staff became a part of our extended family and helped us through a very difficult time by providing care and support. Marge passed away a comfortable, peaceful death surrounded in love by family.
