Lucia Agostine Beacom

With sadness and enduring love, we announce the peaceful passing of Lucia Agostine Beacom on May 15, 2026, at the age of 95, surrounded by the love and heartfelt gratitude of her family. Lucia was born on December 13, 1930, in Sioux City, Iowa, where she spent her early years as the youngest child of Italian immigrants. She deeply loved her parents' chosen country and valued the opportunities it provided to learn and grow. A diligent student, avid reader, and gifted artist, Lucia never stopped learning and aiming for the highest - encouraging others to do the same. As a young woman, she made a commitment to God, asking Him to choose the right husband for her. Not long afterward, she married her beloved husband, Vincent Edward Beacom - a man she always declared was God's perfect choice for her. Lucia treasured her role as a wife and mother, and poured her many talents into creating a loving home and family life. She was a wonderful mother, teacher, gourmet cook, seamstress, knitter, listener, and loyal friend - always using her unique gifts to make her home a place of beauty, peace, comfort, and joy. But perhaps the greatest things Lucia gave to her husband and children were her invisible gifts of character: patience, faithfulness, encouragement, self-sacrifice, endurance, kindness, faith, prayer, and love. Lucia loved God, her husband and family above all else, and she lived out that love quietly and faithfully every day. She truly was the heart of her family and the heart of her home. Lucia was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 73 years, Vincent Edward Beacom; her parents, Giuseppe and Lucia Agostine; and her siblings Dena, Van, Johnny, and Ronald. She is survived by her four children, Mary (Gary) Markman, Ann (Daniel) Sunde, Patty (Paul) Neumann, and Vincent A. (Pam) Beacom; her twelve much-loved grandchildren; and twenty-one great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, June 15, at St. Raphael Catholic Church. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. A luncheon and time of reminiscing will follow. Burial will take place Thursday, July 9, 2026, meeting at 9:45 a.m. in assembly area 4 at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. "Who can find a virtuous woman? For her worth is far above rubies.
