Lois Jean Borth

Lois Jean (Schrieber) Borth, 88, went to be with the Lord on January 13, 2021. She passed away peacefully in Ironwood, Michigan, at the home of her son Daniel with her family by her side. She was born October 3, 1932, in Elgin, Illinois, to Wilfred and Frances (Gould) Schrieber. After growing up in Elgin, she graduated from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, Illinois in 1954. It was there that she met the love of her life, Richard Borth. They were married on August 25, 1956 and recently celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary. Lois will be remembered by her family as a dedicated pastor's wife, mother and grandmother. She invested time in praying for her family and always planned special activities when the grandchildren came to visit. She was an organized, "no-nonsense", adventurous, hard worker and competitively played games and enjoyed making puzzles. She was purposeful in befriending and serving her neighbors and friends. She worked as a home health aide in Illinois and Nebraska where her husband served as a pastor. Her mind was always on heaven and she looked forward to eternity with Jesus. She will be missed by Richard, her loving husband, her children, Deborah (Richard) Mach of Woodbury, Minnesota; Daniel (Jeannie) of Ironwood, Michigan; Rebecca (Larry) James of Laramie, Wyoming and Mark (Candace) of Normal, Illinois, 19 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; brother, Raymond (Lucille) Schrieber; sister, Mary Kendall; sisters-in-law, Carol Schrieber and Helga Schrieber; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Lois was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Richard and James Schrieber. Funeral services will be held at Calvary Church in Roseville, Minnesota on Friday, January 22, 2021 at 1 pm with visitation from noon to 1 pm. Please observe social distancing guidelines. Masks are required for those attending. Interment to follow funeral service at Roselawn Cemetery.
