Hauri, Lloyd E. Passed away unexpectedly at his home in Blaine, MN on 12/20/23 at the age of 77 years. Preceded in death by his parents, Margaret (Jacobson) Schmitt and Fritz Hauri, and Stepfather Henry Schmitt. Survived by his wife of 53 years, Barbara; daughter Heather (Eric), sons Duane (Janice) and Kelly (Liesl) Hauri. Sisters Julie Lamp, Sheri (Jim) Sutton and Jennifer (Kevin) Schmitt. Lloyd was born in Moorhead, MN and grew up in Bloomington, MN. He returned home each summer to work on the family farms with his uncle, cousins and his stepfather in Lake Park, MN. As a family, we enjoyed visiting our relatives and sharing fond memories of our adventures on the farm. Lloyd joined the army, serving during the Vietnam war as a generator mechanic. When his service was complete, he returned home to the states and quickly found work at Burlington Northern Railroad as a welder. He moved on to become a machinist at a tool and die company eventually landing a foreman's position at NorthStar Span Crete in Osseo, MN where he worked for 12 years. Lloyd continued to work various jobs in the local trade industries and took classes in culinary arts at Hennepin Technical College, working as a chef at the Roadway Inn, and business courses at Anoka Ramsey Community College which would come in handy later in his life when he started his own business. He began working in construction for various companies and decided to start his own business in 1985. He was a firm believer in delivering "quality over quantity" and built trusted relationships with his clientele and vendors over the years. The business he founded proudly carries on today in his absence. It didn't matter what job he held, he excelled at everything he did and there wasn't a job he could not do. Lloyd was a person who loved life. He loved to meet new people, loved to laugh, tell jokes, and delivered great one-liners and puns. He loved music. Music was a part of our life in our home. On Sundays in our house, you could hear the music of the 50's, classic country, and Motown. He particularly loved Marty Robbins, Kenny Rogers, Johnny Cash, Waylon and Willie, Elvis, and Sam Cooke. He couldn't carry a tune, but it did not stop him from belting it out anyways. He enjoyed dancing, playing cards with family and friends, cooking, entertaining, and celebrating the holidays. He loved the outdoors, he enjoyed fishing and deer hunting, boating, and riding around on his 4 wheeler. He always had a sense of adventure about him and he would try anything at least once! He enjoyed having a few beers and watching NASCAR with his buddies at Blainebrook Bowl and saw the races in Talladega on three occasions with his good buddy Dan. Lloyd loved the holidays, particularly Christmas. He loved getting together with his family, the food, the baking, the decorations and all the season has to offer. We wished we had one more to share with him. No public funeral services are planned. The family prefers to bereave quietly and privately, remembering who he was in life instead of in his final moments. We ask everyone who knew him to honor his memory by celebrating the relationship you had with him, remembering the good times, the stories, the fun, and the laughs. Raise a glass and make a toast in his memory for all of us.
