Larry Allen Aritt

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Larry Allen Aritt. He passed on June 22nd after a tough battle with cancer, surrounded by the love of his family. Born in Hutchinson, MN. He grew up in Howard Lake, MN before going into the military. Upon returning home he began his career at Coca-Cola Bottling Co. He then met his wife Pamela through a mutual friend in 1982, they got married in 1984 and moved to Crystal, MN where they raised their family. He worked for Coca-Cola for many years before retiring in 2012. There are some people who have a presence that quietly shapes the lives of everyone around them. Larry was one of those people. He left such an unforgettable mark on every life he touched. His kindness came naturally as well as his unmatched wit. His generosity knew no limits, and his love for his family was unwavering. Larry was a proud veteran who honorably served in the United States Air Force from 1968 to 1974, spending most of his military career overseas in Korea, Taiwan, and Japan. He carried that same sense of duty, humility, and integrity throughout his life, always putting others first and serving his family and community with quiet strength. To many he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, neighbor, and friend. To his family he was the steady hand, the calm voice, and the person that could always be counted on. He had a personality that was impossible not to love. He was a jokester through and through. Always ready with a witty remark, playful tease, or a joke that made even the toughest days a little brighter. If he was picking on you, you knew you were loved. His laughter was contagious, and his sense of humor became one of the many ways he brought people together. When he wasn't spending time with those he loved, he could often be found outdoors. Whether he was casting a line into the water, enjoying the peace of nature, or simply taking in the warmth of the sunshine on the deck, that's where he felt most at home. Fishing wasn't just a hobby it was where stories were shared, memories were made, and life's simplest moments were appreciated. He believed in working hard and helping others without expecting anything in return, and treating everyone with kindness and respect. He gave freely of his time, his wisdom, and his love. More than anything he will be remembered for the way he made people feel: welcomed, cared for, and loved. Although our hearts are broken we find comfort in knowing his legacy lives on every lesson he taught, every laugh he shared, and every life he touched. He will deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten Larry was preceded in death by parents Clinton Aritt and Germain Hollerbach, also grandson Benjamin. He is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years Pamela. His children Amanda and Dan; Granddaughter Mykenzie; Siblings Harvey (Hiroko) Aritt, Sandy (William) Theise, and Debbie (Austin) Moran. He also leaves behind many extended family members and dear friends. Funeral services honoring Larry will be held on July 11th at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens at 11am. Visitation will begin at 10am. Following the service friends and family are invited to join us for a luncheon at the Crystal VFW Post 494 as we gather to share stories, laughter, and memories in celebration of his life.
