Katherine Louise Hallberg (Vessey) September 9, 1945 - September 14, 2025 Katherine Louise Hallberg, lovingly known as Kathy, was born on September 9, 1945, in Miles City, Montana. She spent her childhood and teenage years in Aberdeen, Washington, before moving to Minneapolis, where she met the love of her life, Terry. Kathy devoted her life to her children, grandchildren, and close friends she held as family. She gave herself endlessly, always present, always listening, and always ready to help in any way she could. A quick friend to all, she had a rare gift for remembering the details of others' lives. She was known for her infectious laugh, her joyful humor, and the deep, steady love she shared with those she held closest. Terrance Edward Hallberg December 11, 1944 - November 19, 2025 Terrance Edward Hallberg, lovingly known as Terry, was born on December 11, 1944, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He met the love of his life Kathy after her move to Minneapolis. He worked as a landscaper for over 50 years and was also a skilled backyard mechanic. Terry was known for his strong work ethic, his commitment to keeping his family together, and his willingness to teach anyone who would listen. He loved his work and was famous for talking everyone's ear off with his seemingly endless knowledge about nearly everything. Together, their greatest accomplishment was their lifelong commitment to one another and the family they raised side by side. In their final days, both showed extraordinary strength and courage, meeting the end with grace, resilience, and enduring love. They are survived by their four children: Kimberly (Peter Pontinen), Shelly Chase, Terry Hallberg, and Tina Hallberg; 8 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; many extended family members and dear lifelong friends. They were preceded in death by their parents and close family and friends who went before them. The family extends heartfelt thanks to Terrance's doctors and cardiac care team for their years of compassionate care and dedication. Services: A joint funeral service for Katherine and Terrance Hallberg will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Washburn-McReavy, 3816 Penn Avenue North, Minneapolis, MN 55412. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service. A luncheon will follow at Faith-Lilac Way Lutheran Church (ELCA), 5530 42nd Avenue North, Robbinsdale, MN 55422. In lieu of flowers, donations to the family for funeral expenses are greatly appreciated.
