Joyce Macil Lingenfelter

Joyce Kingsley Lingenfelter passed away peacefully on February 4, 2026, at the age of 90, following complications associated with Alzheimer's disease. Born on August 16, 1935, Joyce lived a long and meaningful life devoted to her family, her community, and the many people she quietly cared for along the way. Joyce is survived by her loving husband, Rodney Lingenfelter; her sons Robert (Bob)Kingsley, and his wife Ashley Kingsley and their children Scout and Sawyer; Dennis Kingsley and his children Liz and Andrew; Michael Kingsley and his wife Candice; Rodney's sons Steve and Jim Lingenfelter and her sister Sandra and brother-in-law Ted. Joyce grew up in St. Paul, Minnesota, where she graduated from St. Paul Central High School. She later earned her degree from the University of Minnesota in Recreational Instruction and Music. During her college years, Joyce was deeply involved in her sorority, holding numerous leadership roles and forming lifelong friendships. Music and movement were central to Joyce's life. She loved skating, playing the piano, and teaching neighborhood children how to play. Joyce remained active throughout her life, enjoying playing, skiing, golf, tennis, and anything that allowed her to be outdoors. She passed on this love of staying active to her family, leading by example rather than words. Joyce was also committed to giving back. She volunteered with the American Heart Association, UNICEF, the Walk for Mankind, and her local school library, always preferring to serve quietly and consistently. Some of Joyce's happiest moments were spent fishing with Rodney in Birchwood, Wisconsin, often stopping to play the slot machines at Turtle Lake along the way. She also cherished time in Florida, where she and Rodney had a trailer near West Palm Beach, enjoying the sunshine and the beach. In later years, Joyce and Rodney found joy in country dancing, a reflection of their enduring partnership and shared love of life. Joyce will be remembered for her quiet strength, her steadfast devotion to family, and the warmth she brought to everyday moments. Her legacy lives on in the lives she shaped, the traditions she passed down, and the love she gave so freely.
