Jorge Isaac Munoz-Pederson

Jorge Isaac Munoz-Pederson will be remembered for his ability to make everyone laugh, his physical, emotional, and mental strength, his bravery and leadership...and his overall bad-assery. He was authentically Jorge. He showed his love deeply and protected those around him fiercely. He dreamed the biggest dreams and encouraged others to do the same. His tenacity was infectious. Jorge was born in 1995 in Minneapolis and lived the first years of his life there. During those early years, he was known as "Isaac." From 2000-2002, Jorge and his mother lived in the United Arab Emirates. On the first day of first grade there, he introduced himself to his teacher as "Jorge" (George), and the name stuck. After returning to the United States, he moved to Glenwood, Minnesota. At age 15, he attended his first Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu class, sparking a lifelong passion for martial arts. He attended KMS in central Minnesota for two years and was proud to have wrestled at the state level. He graduated in 2013. Jorge graduated from North Dakota State University in 2018 with a degree in marketing and then moved to the Twin Cities. He continued developing his love for martial arts and discovered The Academy, where he trained nearly every day and built lasting friendships. He embraced the MMA lifestyle-maintaining a healthy diet and committing himself to rigorous workouts and disciplined training. His gym mates described him as one of the hardest-working athletes they knew. Jorge even pursued his passion internationally, training for a month in Phuket, Thailand, and traveling to New Zealand this past year for a fight. His first fight was in 2021, and he compiled an amateur record of 4-2. He was scheduled to have his first professional fight on May 16, 2026. In 2021, Jorge started a moving company, Metro Movers, with his best friend, Kit Ingersoll. That same year, he met the love of his life, Olivia Caspers. Jorge described her as the sweetest soul he'd ever met, and they adored each other deeply until the day of his passing. Jorge also loved dancing and was an avid gamer. He delighted in making those around him laugh and had recently begun performing stand-up comedy at open mic nights. Jorge received a job offer that brought him to Austin, Texas, in February 2026. In the short two weeks he was there, he made a lasting impression on those around him. He was often the first one in the office and the last one to leave. His life was tragically cut short in the early morning hours of March 1, and his loss is mourned by many. He is survived by his mother, Nancy (Dan); his grandmother, Rita; his aunts and uncles, Sheila, Marita, Paul, Martha, Jenny, and Tom; his soulmate, Olivia Caspers; his lifelong friend, Kit Ingersoll; and many extended family members and dear friends who will miss him forever. Please honor Jorge's courageous spirit by choosing your biggest dreams and chasing them with all your heart. Memorials are preferred to donor's choice. Funeral service to be held Saturday, March 14th, at 11am with visitation one hour prior at Mount Olivet Lutheran Church, 5025 Knox Ave S. Minneapolis. Private family interment in Glenwood, MN.
