Gerald "Gerry" Dale Gjerdingen 1938 - 2026 Gerald "Gerry" Dale Gjerdingen, age 87, passed away peacefully at home on March 22, 2026, holding the hand of his beloved wife, Char. A man of deep faith in Jesus, Gerry was shaped by the values of his upbringing in Starbuck and Bloomington, Minnesota. He was a man of "Norwegian grit" and a sharp mind, serving as his class president and studying abroad in Germany as a young man. Gerry brought a natural gift for conversation and problem-solving to his career as a pharmaceutical sales representative, earning the respect of many clinics across the region. Known for his quick wit and wonderful sense of humor, he was an intuitive "fixer" at heart who could repair anything from a tricky gadget to a bad mood. This steady kindness extended to every part of his life, including his daily ritual of feeding "Peanut," the backyard squirrel. Gerry lived life with a rhythm all his own. An avid country music fan, he was happiest on the dance floor where he and Char spent hours two-stepping together. Through dance, they built a wonderful circle of friends and shared bonds that endure to this day. Preceded in Death By: His birth parents, Edwin and Alma (Anondson) Gjerdingen; the parents who raised him, Swen and Josie Nielson; brothers, Herbert (Evelyn) Gjerdingen and Erwin (Margaret) Gjerdingen; sister, Orla (Ralph) Dokken; infant sister, Evelyn Gjerdingen; and son, Jeff Gjerdingen. Survived By: His wife, Char; sons, Scott (Tina) Gjerdingen and Todd (Lisa) Gjerdingen; daughter, Melissa (Andrew) Dalpee; step-daughter, Melissa (Brian) Judd; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Gjerdingen; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Barb Wynne and Hal Huber.
