Dorothy "Dodie" Marie Mord

Dorothy Marie Mord (nee Zabloski), lovingly known as "Dodie," passed away peacefully on March 23, 2026, at the age of 94, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering faith. Dorothy was born on November 18, 1931, in Ramey, Minnesota, to John and Rosemary Zabloski (Chopek). She grew up alongside her siblings, Alice Skiba (Richard), Lloyd Zabloski (Olivia), Norman Zabloski (Helen), and Rosemary Latterell. She graduated from Foley High School and went on to attend business college in Minneapolis. It was there that she met the love of her life, Virgil, at a church youth group outing. They wrote letters while Virgil served in Korea, and upon his return, they resumed their relationship and were married on March 20, 1954. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised their family in Minnetonka, where Dorothy remained for the rest of her life. Dorothy was a devoted mother to Debra Hibbard MacDonald (Colin), Daniel (Cindy), and Sharon Stumpf (Tom); Grandmother to Eric Hibbard, Jeff Mord (Bridget), Kirsten Hibbard, Ryan Mord, Alex Mord (Chantel), Jack Stumpf, and Danny Stumpf; 5 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by brother-in-law Gale Mord, and many nieces and nephews. Her family was her greatest joy, and she filled their lives with warmth, laughter, and many memorable traditions. Dodie had many fun hobbies and interests. She loved ballroom dancing, playing cards, visiting the casino, baking, and a good game of bingo. She never passed up a trip to Dairy Queen, enjoyed watching Tom Hanks movies, Wheel of Fortune, and was a loyal fan of the Minnesota Twins. She was especially known for her blue ribbon cinnamon rolls, apple pie, and rice pudding-recipes that will continue to bring her family together for years to come. She was spunky, witty, and, in her own wonderful way, a bit of a diva. Above all, Dorothy was deeply faithful. Her love for the Lord guided her life, and her family takes comfort in knowing she is now in His loving arms. While her absence leaves a space that can never be filled, her life is a testament to joy, resilience, and enduring love. We celebrate her 94 remarkable years and the countless memories she gave us. Dorothy will be deeply missed and forever remembered. We especially want to thank the Presbyterian Homes staff and caregivers at Beacon Hill and Flagstone for their compassionate care over the past several months. A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2026. Visitation at 1 PM, service at 2 PM, followed by a reception at Washburn-McReavy Funeral Chapel, 1400 Main Street, Hopkins, MN 55343.
