Dianne Lydia Shea, 68, of Eagan, formerly of Minnetonka and Minneapolis. Beloved Mama Shea, Nana, and friend. Preceded in death by loving husband Patrick. Survived by Son Michael (Melissa) Shea; Daughter Meghan Shea; Grandchildren Merlin, Orion & Fitzgerald Shea and Sarah McDaniel; Sister in Law Peggy (Shea) Zera and family Rob, Dan (Niki) and RJ Zera, Cousins Marlene Smith and Betty-Ann Kleinschmidt, her most enduring friendships and countless others. Services Friday, January 21st at Washburn McReavy, Edina. Visitation at 10:00 am, Service at 11:00 am, burial to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Due to COVID a luncheon/ celebration of life will be held later this spring. Dianne was an amazing woman who was a fighter throughout her life. A fiercely loving and devoted wife & mother who taught her children the meaning of family. These lessons were not limited to her children and she earned the nickname "Mama Shea" from those to whom she gave advice; solicited or otherwise. She easily became a Nana who adored every moment she spent with her grandchildren. Every holiday will be remembered with one of her amazing, fun traditions. Dianne fondly remembered her time at the Delta Gamma Sorority University of Minnesota chapter and meeting her "Big Sister" turned lifelong Sister-in-Law; Peggy. It was through her she met the man destined to be her husband, Patrick. The family they created together was her pride and joy. She valued her career as a real estate agent, later moving to Minnetonka in her dream home to raise Mike and Meghan. She did this with great success despite his untimely death shortly thereafter. Even though she faced mounting health challenges later in life she was determined to be part of every family moment (with her companion pup, Bailey). She strove to be, and achieved, an example of how to stand up for each other and one's own beliefs despite any obstacle. Her final resting place is with her husband, her everlasting soulmate. We are comforted to know that they are finally together again, watching over from above, cheering us all on. We have received some requests inquiring about a memorial for Mom. We know that Mom's pride and joy was being Nana and her grandkids are her legacy of love we all share. Mike and I wish to honor that memory for Sarah, Merlin, Orion and Fitzgerald 's future with a fund to go towards their education.
