Dan passed away at his home on July 8, 2024. Celebration of Life for Dan Lee Pierce (Hawkeye), 52, of Bloomington, MN is scheduled for Saturday, July 20, 2024. At Washburn-McReavy Dawn Valley Funeral Chapel, 9940 Bush Lake Road, Bloomington, MN 55438. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Cake, cookies and bars will be served with refreshments. Dan will be laid to his final resting place on Friday, August 9, 2024 in Fairmont, MN where his cremation remains will be buried at the Lakeside Cemetery in Fairmont, MN. "Celebration of Life" service to be held at Lakeview Funeral Home, 205 Albion Avenue, Fairmont, MN. Visitation will from 2:00 pm- 3:00 pm; Service 3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Burial immediately following at 4:00 p.m.- 4:30 p.m. Dinner will be served at the Funeral Home following his burial. Dan was born on January 11, 1972, in Faribault, MN to George Henry Pierce and the late Sharon Pierce. Dan was united in marriage to Cyndy Mehlum on July 17, 2021 in Duluth, MN. They were both employed by The Imagine Group, in Shakopee, MN. Dan was employed there for the past 10 years. Dan had a strong passion for the great outdoors. He loved to hunt various animals with his guns and bow. He also trapped, and was a devoted fisherman. He loved to be on the water fishing with Cyndy and many family and friends. One of his favorite places to fish on Leech Lake has now become Hawkeye Flatts, where Dan would cast a line and limit out on fish. Dan and Cyndy will always have lasting memories enjoying their boat, Ice Castle and camper on their camper sight up north in Bena, MN. Dan also loved to play Bingo. He was always very lucky and won his fair share of coveralls! Dan will always be known as an amazing husband, uncle, and friend to so many people. He had a heart of gold and loved sharing it with everyone! He enjoyed spending time with all of his nieces and nephews and creating cherished memories with all of them. He will always be known for doing the "Truffle Shuffle." If you don't know about this, just ask Cyndy! Dan was known for his skills over the grill, cooking delicious potatoes/meals for their many pot luck get togethers up at the lake. Dan loved the animals at their apartment on the outdoor patio. He enjoyed watching the variety of birds, turkeys, deer and their babies that would come and visit them. He is survived by his loving wife, Cyndy, father George Pierce, siblings ~ Steven (Linda) Pierce, George (Deb) Pierce, Tom Pierce, Cherrie (Kent) Langford, Blaine Hartwig; Twins ~ Lisa and Leroy Mehlum, Chad (Kari) Mehlum, Barb Wagner, Deb Pappas, Jennifer, Miranda and Marshall Krosch and many nieces and nephews.
