Mr. Burton Bernall Moore

Burton B. Moore Burton B. ‘Burt’ Moore, age 95 of Brooklyn Park, passed away peacefully on Easter morning, April 21, 2019 at Good Samaritan Ambassador in New Hope. Burt was preceded in death by his parents, wife Betty on May 18, 1999; brother Charles J. Moore on April 5, 2016; half-brothers, John C. Ward and Franklin Ward; and half-sister LaVerne (Henry) Johnson. Burt is survived by daughter Cindy (Dan) Berg of Ramsey; son Bradley (Catherine) Moore of Lakeville; grandchildren Justin Mortensen of Ramsey; Derek Mortensen of Isanti; Ashley Mortensen of Buffalo; Saira Moore, Scott Moore and Eric Moore all of Lakeville. Burt was born June 2, 1923 in Beauford, MN to Edward and Emma (Neller) Moore. He attended high school in Mankato and shortly thereafter enlisted in the US Army in May, 1943. Burt married the love of his life, Betty Anderson, on July 24, 1943 in El Paso, Texas. In the Army he served three years overseas in the anti-aircraft artillery battalion during World War II in Central Europe, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and Normandy. Burt then went on to work as a Division Head for Sears Roebuck & Co. for 40 years and retired from Sears in August, 1985. After retirement, Burt and Betty lived in their home in Maple Grove seven months out of the year and loved to spend their winters in Phoenix, Arizona where they had several close friends who enjoyed all that desert life had to offer: golf, warm and sunny weather, trips to Laughlin, long walks and plenty of happy hours and social get-togethers. Until his later years, Burt also loved to fish and be at the lake with his family. Burt loved his family and friends very much. Burt Moore’s family would like to thank the staff at the Good Samaritan Ambassador in New Hope for their heart felt and outstanding care given to our father. Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Monday, April 29, 2019 at Washburn-McReavy Bloomington Chapel, 2300 W. Old Shakopee Road, Bloomington, MN 55431. Visitation 2–5 PM Sunday, April 28 at Washburn-McReavy Bloomington, 2300 W. Old Shakopee Road, Bloomington, MN 55431 (952-884-8145), also 1 hr. prior to service. Interment with Military Honors will be at Dawn Valley Memorial Park, Bloomington. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to donor’s choice.
