Audrey Lucille Roe

Roe, Audrey Lucille (Lovstedt) Born in Minneapolis on March 4, 1925, Audrey passed away peacefully on September 1 at home in Plymouth surrounded by her girls. She outlived her parents, Einar and Edna; and sisters Evelyn, Erlys, Lily Mae and Norma, spending the past 24 years as the only living member of her immediate family. Survived by daughters, LeAnn Roe, Jody Roe (Michael Hunz), granddaughter Casey Elden (Kurt) and great grandsons Kyson and Beckham; many loving nieces and nephews and special friends. Audrey graduated from Washburn high school. She married and raised her two daughters on Peninsula Rd at Medicine Lake. She was always employed and often worked more than one job so her girls were able to participate in many activities with her extra income. Though "hosting' was not her favorite task, she prepared many bridge club dinners, family and friend picnics at the lake and participated in local progressive dinners. Lifelong friends came from the Peninsula's Women's and Monkey clubs. She was a crafter and a knitter who gifted her handiwork to family and friends. She made many new and very special friends later in life; learned tai-chi and to play tennis, travelled around Europe and the U.S., while keeping busy with work and volunteering. Audrey completely retired at the age of 80. Her many activities at the Minnetonka Senior Center connected her love of bridge playing to more new friends during her retirement; especially Ann who was her bestie to the end. Audrey had the gift of a clear mind and an unbelievable memory until her last days. Though her sight and hearing were profoundly diminished she was always interested in making new friends and learning their life stories. She shared her memories with everyone who asked. As she wishes, there will be no formal service for her passing. Her 100th birthday party brought those closest to her together in a Celebration Of Life, where she could participate and share her memories while making new ones.
