Arnold "Arnie" Paul Kunde

Kunde, Arnold "Arnie" Paul, age 98 & 9 months of Blaine, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2026. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 70 years Beverly "Jean"; parents, Paul and Leona; brother James (Elray) and many beloved brother and sister in-laws. Arnie was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose love for his family was evident in everything he did. He proudly served in the United States Navy during the final years of World War II before beginning a distinguished 36½ year career with the Minneapolis Police Department, retiring as a Lieutenant. He had a remarkable ability to make friends wherever he went. If someone needed a helping hand he was always the first to offer one. Whether remodeling a basement, building a garage, or tackling a project for friends or family, he shared his time, talents, and craftsmanship with everyone. Together with his beloved wife, he spent many years creating beautiful wood crafts, a hobby that brought them both joy. He was also a lifelong and devoted Minnesota Vikings fan from the team's very first season, proudly holding season tickets for 36 years. He even cheered them on in person at Super Bowl IX in 1975. A game that, like many Vikings fans remember, ended in disappointment but never diminished his loyalty to the team. He was also an avid Minnesota Twins fan and rarely missed the opportunity to cheer on his favorite ball club. When he wasn't working or cheering on his teams, he found his greatest happiness outdoors. He loved camping, fishing, and hunting pheasants, creating countless memories and sharing laughs with family and friends. He will be remembered for his unwavering kindness, generous spirit, strong work ethic, and the love he shared with everyone fortunate enough to know him. He is survived by his children Greg (Renee) of White Bear Lake, Cindy (Jim) Nash of Lincoln, NE, Gail (Brad) Hensler of Blaine; grandchildren, Jennifer Kunde, Keith (Christie) Kunde, Ashley (Scott) Kunde, Spencer Nash, Justin Nash, Miranda (Brent) Vasa, Callie (Dave) Hensler, Trent Hensler, Brandon (Claudia) Hensler; great-grandchildren Alexis (Tony) Hruby, Matthew Nash, Harper Vasa, Arlo; and many nephews and nieces. Memorial service will be Monday, July 6th, 2026 at 11 am with visitation one hour prior at Family of Christ Lutheran Church, 16345 Polk St NE, Ham Lake, MN 55304. Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a later date.
