Anthony Joseph Ouellette

Anthony "Tony" Ouellette Anthony "Tony" Ouellette, age 86, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of craftsmanship, creativity, and a life well lived. He was born on August 19, 1939. Tony dedicated his career to the sheet metal trade and was a proud member of Sheet Metal Workers Union Local 10 in Minneapolis. His talent as a sheet metal worker was exceptional, but those who knew him understood that his abilities extended far beyond his profession. He possessed a rare gift for creating almost anything he could imagine from metal. His artistic creations included stunning flame-painted metal artwork, handcrafted crosses, and unique jewelry that reflected both his skill and imagination. Never one to shy away from a challenge, Tony's projects became legendary among family and friends. He built a houseboat in his garage, transformed 2 Volkswagen Beetle into 2 three-wheeled motorcycles, and was always dreaming up his next creation. If something could be built, Tony would find a way to make it. Tony shared his life with his beloved wife, Jean Ouellette. Together they built a family that was the center of his life. He is lovingly survived by his wife, Jean; his children, JoAnn Mulnix and her husband, Jim Morris; Thomas Ouellette and his wife, Chris; Jill Bunkers and her husband, John; and Jennifer Poferl and her husband, Chris. He was a proud grandfather to ten grandchildren and a cherished great-grandfather to five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved grandson, Jacob Bunkers. Outside of his workshop, Tony found his greatest joy on the water. He loved boating on the St. Croix River and was a devoted member of Point Douglas Marina for more than 40 years. Over the years, he owned many boats, creating countless memories with family and friends. Tony and Jean also enjoyed spending their winters in Rio Verde, Arizona. There, Tony's garage became a favorite gathering place where neighbors and friends would stop by to see his newest project, admire his artwork, or commission one of his handcrafted crosses or pieces of jewelry. His garage was more than a workshop-it was a place where friendships were built, stories were shared, and creativity was always on display. His tools may now rest, and the sparks from his workshop may have faded, but the love he shared and the memories he created will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew him. We take comfort knowing that somewhere, Tony has found a new workshop, a new project, and an endless supply of metal waiting to be transformed into something beautiful. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
