Ann Carr

Carr, Ann (Hudak) Passed away peacefully on April 30, 2015 at the age of 89. She was preceded in death by beloved husband, Dr. William Carr, her sister, Helen Moore and her parents, Susan and Peter Hudak. She lived her life with her children Peter and Shelley Carr, Elisabeth and Tadesse Eshete, Susan and Tom Brown, and Chris and Eric Hanson; her grandchildren Jesse and Art Oxborough, Rose Carr, Eric and Maggie Brown, Kipp and Greta Hanson; and her great grandchild Atlas Oxborough. Ann was raised in Northeast Minneapolis, the daughter of Russian immigrants. She met her dear husband William in the eighth grade, and together they forged a life filled with love for family and friends and service to others. She lived her faith in her commitments to her church, the Salvation Army, and numerous other charitable causes. Ann's volunteer work also included countless hours volunteering for the high school bands of St. Anthony Village, including chaperoning numerous band trips with her husband. Ann's passion for music has been passed on to her children and grandchildren. She especially adored the opera, and ushered every night at Northrop Auditorium when the Metropolitan Opera came to town. Ann may have been the best cook in town. Her firm belief that butter makes everything better was greatly appreciated by all. Ann's tender care, her abiding love for her husband, her selflessness, and her gracious spirit will never be forgotten. Eternal memory to Ann Hudak Carr! Visitation will be on Sunday, May 3 at Washburn McReavy Funeral Chapel, located at 2901 Johnson St. NE, from 4-6 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Northeast United Methodist Church, 2510 Cleveland St. NE on Monday, May 4 at 11 a.m. A private interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials preferred to Northeast United Methodist Church, Cure SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy), The Salvation Army, St. Croix Hospice, and the Dr. William J.
