Angeline "Angie" Morris (neeHandris) Boosalis

Boosalis, Angeline "Angie" Morris (nee Handris) of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Chicago, Illinois, passed away peacefully on February 22, in Chicago, Illinois. Angie, one of seven children, was born in Duluth, Minnesota on April 15, 1921. She married Isadore Morris in 1941 in Minneapolis, where they owned Morris and Christie Foods, a specialty food market, 31st and Hennepin. In 1958, when Morris died unexpectedly, she successfully ran the business for 13 years with loyal support from her employees, customers, and friends. In 1971 she retired from the business and married Michael G. Boosalis who passed in 1983. Angie lived in Minneapolis for sixty years and was active in the Uptown Business Association; and a lifelong member of St. Mary's Greek Orthodox Church, the Philoptochos Society and the Daughters of Penelope. Angie was beloved by all who knew her and is survived by her daughter Margo Morris (Stanley Tamkin) of Chicago, Illinois, and her son Chris Morris (Suzanne) of Melbourne, Australia. Angie was a loving mother, a fierce and loyal friend, an adoring grandmother and a one-of-a kind great-grandmother. In 2000 she moved to Chicago, Illinois to be close to her daughter, her granddaughters Marya Frankel (Peter) and Erika Carey (Noah) and her great-grandchildren Emily, Katarina (Katy) and Isidore (Izzy) Flood; and Nicholas and Jacob Erhart. Angie leaves an extended family including Michael G. Erhart, Joe, Simon and Annie Frankel and Simon, Grace and Maddy Carey. She also is survived by nieces Theani Louskos (San Francisco, CA), Suzanne Louskos Smallwood, (Lexington KY), and Elene Louskos Free (Plano, TX), Chrysees Delegeorge Taylor, (Oracle, AZ), Algerette Handris Banyas (Boca Raton FL), and nephew James Handris (Conroe, TX). We extend grateful thanks to Aloma Roda, who was a loving and compassionate caregiver to Angie since October 2013. She was predeceased by her parents Christ and Kyriaki Handris, her siblings John and Edward Delegeorge, Helen Delegeorge Handris, Meropi Delegeorge-Phillips Rombakis, Katherine Handris Louskos and George Handris. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 am, St. Mary's Greek Orthodox Church, 3450 Irving Ave. S., Minneapolis, on Saturday, March 1, 2014. Interment Lakewood Cemetery.
