Terrie Lou Bares
October 9, 1956 - April 21, 2022
Terrie Bares, age 65, adoring wife to Craig Bares and loving mother of three, passed away surrounded by family on April 21, 2022 after a courageous battle with cancer. Terrie grew up with her four siblings in New Brighton, MN and graduated from Mounds View High School in 1975. She worked her way up at Minnegasco/Centerpoint Energy from 1975-1980 and returned in 1992 where she remained a loyal employee in her current position as a regional structure representative. She advocated on behalf of union members serving as Chief Steward at Centerpoint and Union President of OPEIU Local 12 from 2018 to 2022. Amidst work and raising her kids, she enjoyed playing on many softball teams over the years, providing a trusted glove at first base and timely hitting at the plate. Terrie gave everything she had for her kids and was always there to support them in school and sports - showing them what it was like to be a good human in this world. Her love knew no bounds and grew stronger as her kids started their families. This led to trips spending time with family in California, Duluth, Florida, Virginia, and Washington, DC, complete with zoo adventures, tea parties, bubbles, and festive holiday decorating. She met her husband Craig in 1992 and they married in 2008. Her love of fishing, camping, and lake life led her and Craig to their summer home on Little Winnie. She loved tending her flowers, happy hour on the deck, and fishing for "the big one". Just being at the lake with her kids, grandkids, and many other family and friends brought her immense joy and happiness. Always the life of any party, Terrie never turned down a chance to dress up with flair, sing and dance to Elvis, decorate for a holiday, or celebrate any occasion. Above all, her selflessness and grace was felt by many and the loss leaves behind great sadness and hurt. Terrie was preceded in death by father, Howard Seiferth. Terrie is survived by mother, Bonnie Seiferth; husband, Craig Bares; children; Derek (Elizabeth Branson) Larsen, Jennifer (Brian) Park, Chelsey (Quinn) Carlson; seven grandchildren; siblings, Dawn (Art) Saxum, Paul (Linda) Seiferth, Wendy (Scott) Kronwall; and many other family and friends. Burial will take place at a later date at Glen Haven Cemetery. Visitation on Wednesday, April 27, from 4 PM to 8 PM. Memorial service on Thursday, April 28, at 3 PM, with visitation one hour prior, all at Washburn-McReavy Glen Haven Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations preferred to: American Cancer Society https://donate3.cancer.org or Colorectal Cancer Alliance https://impact.ccalliance.org/give/266249/#!/donation/checkout
