Roger Norbert Margotto

August 19, 1947 - April 30, 2022

Margotto, Roger Norbert Born on August 19, 1947 to Thomas S. and Bertha G. (Koshiol) Margotto. He attended Immaculate Conception Grade School in Columbia Heights. Roger was a proud graduate of DeLaSalle High School in Minneapolis. He graduated from the University of St. Thomas with a degree in chemistry and a member of ROTC. Following graduation Roger attended the University of Northern Arizona and received his Masters Degree in Chemistry. He then entered the United States Airforce with his first assignment in Wiesbaden, Germany in 1972. Roger left the Air Force in 1985 as a Major and entered the civilian world working in the area of industrial safety and waste management. He retired in May 2021 after working for over 20 years with Tetratech in California and New Mexico. Roger moved back home to Minnesota in July 2021 to be closer to family. He is survived by his siblings: Linda (John) Kaiser, Wayne (Jan) and Thomas (Debbie) and his nieces and nephews, Janice Fisher, Jaime Krupa, Jeff Kaiser, Jessica Truhler, Jason Kaiser, Tony Margotto, and Casey Tody and 17 great nieces and nephews. He was lovingly referred to as Uncle Roger. He is also survived by numerous friends across the United States. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and parents and baby sister, Mary. Roger will be remembered for his kindness and caring for all and his love of the earth. His passion for the well- being and safety of others is his legacy. Memorials can be made to DeLaSalle High School or the University of St. Thomas.
