Richard Albin Nye

May 12, 1953 - June 7, 2022

Nye, Richard (Rick) Albin Went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 7, 2022. Rick passed away suddenly and peacefully in his sleep at home with Karl. Preceded in death by his mother & father, Kathryne and Albin Nye, and sister, Dianne Bauer. Rick is survived by husband Karl Breitbarth, son, Nate Pecoraro (Jen) and grandchildren: Noelle, Quinn & Raymond, sisters: Jeanine Yates & Sharon Cozatt (Ron) and many nieces and nephews. Rick met partner and husband (Karl) on August 7, 1993, they married on August 7, 2013, their 20th anniversary, when legal in MN. The love the two of them had for each other is truly one of a kind. Rick was born May 12, 1953 in NE Minneapolis. Graduate of Edison High School and MN School of Business. For 30+ years, he managed the family business, Nye's Polonaise. Rick & Karl owned a sandwich shop in Stillwater, which they sold to renovate rental property. With all of his years of running restaurants he had made so many wonderful friends. Rick's wide smile and gift of gab was welcomed (sometimes) and regularly handed out. Rick was first person to crack a joke and the last person still laughing at it. If there was a party, Rick would be there until the very end. Rick loved his family & friends with his whole heart and would protect them without question. Rick's smile and laughter was infectious and he will be missed greatly. Services and Celebration of Life to be held at a later date. Donations preferred in Rick's name to pethavenmn.org
