Richard Allan Henderson

July 10, 1950 - April 13, 2022

Richard Allan Henderson was born July 10, 1950 in Biwabik, MN. Our beloved Rick passed away on April 13, 2022. In 2019 Rick was diagnosed with Cancer. He fought strong and won the battle. Recently it came back and took over his body but not his mind, courage, strength, or hope. He gave us such comfort with his humor and bravery until his last breath. Rick graduated from the University of MN. in 1972 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, masters from St. Thomas and his P. E. His professional career was in management for various engineering companies began in Oregon and finished in Minnesota. When Rick wasn't working, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was very active and liked playing softball, tennis, fishing, golf and cheering on the Gophers and MN sports. After retirement he played more golf, cycling, cooking, sharing recipes and thinking he was a food photographer. He was known for his witty humor and laughing at his own dad jokes. Happy and feeling good, Rick liked golf so much he had a hip replacement this fall followed by trips to the golf dome to work on his swing this Spring to be ready when the golf courses opened in 2022. A wonderful bond with lifelong friends included fishing trips to Canada and northern MN for over 30 years. Traveled to Mexico, Germany, Spain and walked the Great Wall in China. Visited numerous cites in the U.S. We particularly liked Palm Springs. His family will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his father Ted Henderson and brother Tom Henderson. Survived by his wife Becky, son John (Chaley) daughters Anmarie (Jason) Carly (Janie) mother Shirley, sibling's Marsha, Stephen (Darlene), Sally, Nancy (Mike Korpi), nieces, nephews, and cousins Services will be held on Thursday April 28, 2022. Visitation at 1:00pm and service at 2:00pm. Services will be held at Washburn-McReavy, Edina Chapel, 5000 West 50th St. Edina, MN 55436
