Richard Lyle Anderson

August 22, 1927 - February 18, 2022

Anderson, Richard L. "Dick" of Bloomington and formerly of Edina, passed away at age 94 on February 18, 2022. He was born in South Dakota and spent his youth in Saint James, Minnesota. In 1945, he graduated from high school and was inducted into the Navy. While attending Gustavus Adolphus College, he met and married his college sweetheart, Joan. They were married for 73 wonderful years. He spent 38 years with 3M Company International as Director of Human Resources and Managing Director of 3M Vienna, Austria. After retiring, he and Joan spent their winters in Arizona. He is survived by the love of his life, Joan, daughters, Cheryl Anderson, Karen Drill, Kathy (John) Abney, grandchildren, Erika (James) Owens, Jake Schwamb, Adam (Ashley) Drill, Angela (Bert) Elwell, David, Jonathon and Matthew Abney and eight great grand-children. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, and a nephew. A private family service will be held.
