Ralph Fennimore Anderson Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Ralph F. Anderson, age 79 of Bloomington, MN peacefully went home to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 2nd, 2022. Funeral service to be held Monday, July 11th at 11 AM with visitation one hour prior at Berean Baptist Church, 309 County Rd 42 E, Burnsville, MN 55306. Pastor Roger Camerer officiating. Ralph will be laid to rest at Dawn Valley Cemetery in Bloomington, MN. Born to Curtis and Una (Olson) Anderson on March 12, 1943, Ralph grew up in rural Houston, MN and graduated from Houston High School in 1961. After graduation, Ralph attended some classes at St. Paul Bible College in St. Paul, MN and then moved on to spend his career working in retail sales followed by a variety of retail warehouse roles in the Twin Cities for companies including Sears, Montgomery Ward, and Dept. 56. He retired in 2007. Following retirement, he worked part-time for a few years at a BP station in Eden Prairie. Ralph met his wife of almost 57 years, Fern Von Moos, in a typing class while attending Houston High School. Ralph and Fern were united in marriage at South Ridge Evangelical United Brethren Church in rural La Crescent, MN on July 24, 1965. Ralph's faith was a constant presence throughout his life. He accepted Christ as his personal savior as a young child and was active in church service including singing in the choir, being an usher, and a greeter. He attended Houston Baptist Church as a child and was a member of Edgewater Baptist Church in Minneapolis and Berean Baptist Church in Burnsville during his later years. Ralph's family was his greatest joy. He was a loving and devoted husband as well as a proud father and grandfather. His three children were very active in sports and other activities and Ralph rarely missed a game or band concert. Ralph continued this trend with his grandchildren's activities which included attending hockey, soccer, baseball, softball and volleyball games as well as an occasional choir concert. Ralph and Fern also enjoyed traveling together once their children were grown. They enjoyed trips to Europe, a couple of cruises and many road trips throughout the U.S. Ralph touched so many people's lives and he will be dearly missed. Ralph is survived by wife, Fern; children, Jeffrey (Carol), Jeanette (Shane) Carlson, Jared (Anne); grandchildren, Joelle, Alex, Austin, Sami and Tyler. Other survivors include a brother, John (Barbara) Anderson and a sister Bonnie McDaniel and many nieces and nephews. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, infant sister Maren, sister Georgene & husband Richard Genck, brother Carrol & wife Dagmar Anderson, brother-in-law Don McDaniel and niece Cherilyn Anderson Ross. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to Swede Bottom Cemetery, Houston, MN.
