Paul Willson Oberg
February 6, 1931 - November 21, 2021
Oberg, Paul Willson age 90, died Sunday, November 21, 2021, at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park, MN. Born in Minneapolis on February 6, 1931, Paul lived most of his life in the western suburbs. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Paul M. Oberg and Marcella (Gadbois) Oberg. He is survived by a sister, Gretchen Howell of San Diego, CA; niece Marsi T. Howell of Boulder, CO; nephew Eric P. Howell of Sequim, WA; and nephew Geoffrey W. Howell of San Diego, CA. As a young man, Paul served as a Captain in the United States Air Force. He graduated from the University of Minnesota Law School and then practiced in Minnesota for more than 50 years - with focus on real estate law. As the son of a Professor Emeritus of Music at the University of Minnesota, Paul grew up with an appreciation for the arts. He loved the visual arts and always had season tickets to the Minnesota Orchestra. For leisure, he loved playing bridge with a regular group of friends. Just when most people are ready to retire, Paul enthusiastically launched Jeffers Foundation, a non-profit organization, with co-founder Fergus R. Woolley in 2005. The Mission was to "Foster Environmental Stewardship through Education." Paul continued to run the foundation as CEO until his death. A memorial bench will be placed near Jeffers Pond - a small, deep lake surrounded by pristine woods donated to the City of Prior Lake by the Jeffers Foundation.
