Norma Rebecca Pera

May 1, 1928 - February 20, 2022

Norma Pera, 93, of Bloomington, MN, passed away February 20, 2022. Born in Carrington, North Dakota, Norma attended elementary and secondary schools locally, then higher education at Bethany College-Mankato, Concordia-Seward, Concordia-River Forest, and the University of Minnesota. She was a life-long educator, teaching elementary grades in public and Lutheran schools in Minnesota, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, and Minnesota for over 40 years. After retirement, she continued to follow her vocation by volunteering at Redemption/Mt. Hope and Indian Mounds schools. Norma further expressed her deep faith through many years of church membership and participation, currently at Redemption Lutheran in Bloomington. She was active in Women's Ministry and Bible Study, as well as singing in the choir, playing the flute, and her particular interest, leading children's choirs. Preceded in death by her parents, August and Pauline (nee Flemmer), four brothers (Gerhard, Clemens, Victor, Silas) and one sister (Marcella). Norma is survived and will be deeply missed by two sisters (Eunice, Hilde), five brothers (Roland, Marcus, Conrad, Steve, Jeremy), their spouses, many nieces and nephews and their children. Norma's memorial service will be held Saturday, March 5 at 3:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior at Redemption Lutheran Church, 927 E. Old Shakopee Rd, Bloomington, MN, and fellowship following the service. The service will be livestreamed on www.redemptionmn.org. Private interment at Bloomington Cemetery, Bloomington, MN.
