Merney Irene Ankrom

Merney Irene Ankrom peacefully passed away at home with her daughters by her side on the evening of January 24, 2022. Merney was born in Corcoran, MN on February 27, 1937. She was baptized at home on April 1, 1937. Merney was confirmed at Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church in Robbinsdale, MN on April 22, 1951. She married William Scott on January 27, 1955 and went onto raise 4 daughters. Merney went into the printing business in 1954, where she worked until she retired in 2001. Some of Merney's other career interests were delivering newspapers and working in the Bingo Hall. She also thoroughly enjoyed her Friday fun nights and family gatherings. She was survived by daughters Vicki Ankrom, Sallie Ford (Mike Davis), Stacey Steinke, Wendy Ankrom (Mark Melchert). Grandchildren Samuel Ford (C'iana), Heidi Steinke (Dave Mealey), Zachary Svoboda (Brita), AnnaLeigh Urista (Chase), Rachel Svoboda, and Lucas Steinke along with 6 great grandchildren and special family friends Bodo Steinke and Brian Svoboda. Also survived by her sisters Mardell, LaDess, LaDonna and many nieces and nephews. Waiting at the gates will be her parents, brother Lowell, grandson Matthew Ford, special family friend Barrett Pocklington and many other family and friends. Funeral service Saturday, February 5, 2022 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church (9141 Cty. Rd. 101, Corcoran) at 10 AM with visitation one hour prior. Interment Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
