Merle Skinner

October 24, 1924 - March 14, 2022

Merle Skinner Merle Skinner of Minnetonka, MN passed away at the age of 97 on March 14, 2022. Merle was born on October 3, 1924 in Marion County, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, Darrell; her parents K.C. and Chloe McEntire; siblings John, G. B., Vilna, and Earl. She is survived by daughters Marsha (Jim) Benshoof, Jan (Mike) Kemper; grandchildren Rick (Kristi) Cobbs, Diana Cobbs, James (Elaine) Kemper, and Jackie (Eyryne) Monroe; great-grandchildren Michael and Lily Cobbs, and Paige, Hannah, and Quinn Kemper. She is also survived by step-grandchildren Justin Benshoof, Todd (Jessica) Benshoof; step-great grandchildren Ryan, Evan, Drew, Logan, and Oliver Benshoof; and several nieces and nephews. Merle took great pride in her accounting career, gardening, and many volunteer activities at First Christian Church, Minneapolis and Minnetonka United Methodist Church. She taught Sunday School for many years and was often in the church kitchen cooking with her special friends. Merle loved her family and enjoyed hosting memorable family dinners. Our family wishes to express great appreciation to Beacon Hill Commons and Optage Hospice for the wonderful care provided to Merle. A Celebration of Life service is scheduled at Minnetonka United Methodist Church on May 7, 2022 at 1:00 pm, with a reception following.
