Marion Sigrid Sides

April 14, 1939 - April 13, 2021

Sides, Marion passed away on April 13, 2021 at age 81. She grew up in Wisconsin and graduated from St. Olaf College, where she played violin in the orchestra. She worked in the banking and finance industries until finding her true passion, travel. She worked 25 years in the travel industry. Marion and David Sides Jr. were married and lived in the Twin Cities area for 37 years. The couple enjoyed many trips in the U.S. and abroad. Marion sparkled with life she was a beautiful, kind, fun and compassionate spirit who joyfully looked forward to the next day's activities, visits with friends & family or the next travel destination. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Raymond and Cora Huss, and her husband Dave. She is survived by her sister Kathryn (Bill) Dougherty, daughter Kristin (Lisa) Olson, sons David (Fran) Sides and Darien (Sarah) Sides, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Sudie Sides, nephew Josh Sides and many beloved cousins & friends. A celebration of life service for Marion and her brother Rolf Huss (d.05/01/2021) will be held on Saturday, April 23rd at 11 a.m. at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, 12650 Johnny Cake Ridge Rd, Apple Valley, MN. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. and a luncheon will follow the service. Memorials preferred to Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, St. Olaf College, or the American Cancer Society.
