Marilyn Florence Lerum Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Lerum, Marilyn Florence (Schreder), Age 88, of Crystal, MN passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 22, 2022. Preceded in death by her husband Al, parents Anthony and Hilda Schreder, sisters Joyce Cosenza, Lavern Stempson, and brother Ron Schreder. Survived by her brother Rich (Mary) Schreder, brother-in-law Tom Stempson, sons Bob (Vicki) and Doug (Karen) Lerum, daughter Patty (Rudy) Ruedenberg, and grandchildren Rick and Ryan Lerum, Lucas and Joshua Ruedenberg, many nieces and nephews, and her loving companion Julian Del Rosal. A Celebration of Life will be held at 12PM on Thursday, July 14th with luncheon to follow at Washburn-McReavy Glen Haven Chapel, 5125 West Broadway, Crystal. Marilyn grew up in NE Minneapolis and attended Ascension Catholic School. She was married at the young age of 18 to Alfred Lerum, whom she met while working at Gambles in St. Louis Park. Together they raised three children in their home in Crystal, MN, where she was still living until the very end after 67 years. While raising her family, Marilyn worked at home (for her mother) as a sewer for Eklund's Clothing, sewing names and logos on bowling shirts and jackets. When her youngest child was in high school, she re-entered the workforce outside the home doing office and accounting work at Process Displays in New Hope, MN. Marilyn enjoyed a variety of activities including bowling, golfing, playing cards, going to the movies, watching sports on TV, and going to the casino. She loved family gatherings and spending winters in Arizona with lots of friends and happy hours. The last 15 years of her life she shared with her loving companion, Julian Del Rosal. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.
