Marguerite Lee Hanken Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Marguerite C. Hanken (Olson) , age 89, of Edina Minnesota, passed away July 18, 2021 in Minneapolis, MN following a long illness and surrounded by her loving family. Marguerite is preceded in death by Calvin I. Olson, Robert J. Hanken, Hilda M. Lee, Kenneth F. Lee, Robert Hanken Jr. Marguerite was born in Minneapolis to Kenneth and Hilda Lee on November 1,1931. She went to school at Holy Rosary and graduated from South High in Minneapolis 1949. She married Calvin I. Olson on July 16, 1951 in Minneapolis. She worked In the payroll Dept. for the Government in Virginia Beach while Calvin was out at sea on the USS Roanoke. Aside from her prime endeavor supporting her husband, children and families Marguerite served as a den mother and active in a variety of Philanthropic and charitable organizations most recently she loved being a member of the Minneapolis Women's Club And St. Patricks Church of Edina. Marge and Cal were popular and successful owners of the Hopkins House and Breezy Point Resort during the 60's and 70's. After Cals untimely death in 1972 Marge found love again and married Bob Hanken, owner of the Guest House Minneapolis and the Guest House Motor Inn Watertown. She spent the rest of her life enjoying family's at their homes in Naples Florida, Edina Minnesota and their lake home on Sylvan Lake Brainerd. Marguerite is survived by Mark Olson, Steve (Carrie) Olson, Kent Olson, Krystal Olson, Calvin Olson (Lynne), Chad Olson (Elena), Katie (Jay) Brooks, Jared (Cherish) Olson, Brittany (Justin) Sorensen, Brandon Olson, Cynthia Hanken, John (Nancy) Hanken, David Hanken, Matthew Hanken, Cody Hanken. Memorials preferred to the Woman's Club of Minneapolis. A private family service will be held.
