LarryLee Orlo Bingen

Larry was born on August 12, 1942, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, to parents Henry and Clara Olive (Halverson) Bingen. He graduated from Washington High School in 1960 and attended and was confirmed at East Side Lutheran Church. Larry passed away in his home on January 19, 2025. Larry was preceded in death by his parents: Henry and Clara Olive (Halverson) Bingen and his brother DeWayne Bingen. Larry married Bonny M. (Delzer) Bingen on September 16, 1961, in Jackson, MN. He held various jobs in Sioux Falls, starting at a young age working in his father's business, Bing's Antique & Secondhand Store. His work later was as a life insurance salesman, at a fruit produce company, and trucking companies. Larry and Bonny moved to Minneapolis in 1964, where Larry continued driving semi -trucks for various companies for most of his life. A hard worker, Larry often worked two jobs to keep the family financially stable, including managing apartment buildings in his earlier married years. Larry and Bonny were blessed with three children: Christine, Craig, and Tracy. Larry's children, grandchildren, and great-grandson were the pride and joy of his life. He enjoyed attending the many programs his grandchildren were involved in, such as band, marching band, robotics, piano recitals, orchestra, cheerleading events, and choir. Larry was a member of the St. Paul Camera Club for years. Photography remained a hobby for him. He photographed weddings and other functions for others. He loved fishing, hunting, the outdoors, and going up north to relax with family. He continued to enjoy antique shopping. Larry and Bonny enjoyed taking trips and biking for several years. Larry is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Bonny Mae (Delzer) Bingen; his children Christine M. (Michael) Zahler of Maple Grove, MN; Craig L. (Anna) Bingen of Hanover, MN; and Tracy A. Bingen of Maple Grove, MN; his dear grandchildren and great-grandson: Amanda Bingen, Nicholas Zahler, Jennifer Bingen, Sophie Bingen, and Dominic Mason. Larry is also survived by his sister-in-law Betty A. Barnes, Sioux Falls S.D.; nieces and nephews Kimberly (Norman) French of Harrisburg SD., Kathryn (Doug) Barnes Weber of Waukegan, Illinois; and John (Vonda) Barnes of Sioux Falls SD plus many more relatives in South Dakota, Minnesota, Colorado, and Texas. May the Lord grant comfort, peace and strength to those of us left behind to mourn his departure Larry will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Our memories of him are a blessing.
