Kathleen Mary Winter

We are heartbroken to share the passing of a truly incredible woman, Kathleen "Katie" Winter, who passed away peacefully April 19, 2025, about a month shy of her 94th birthday. Known for her immeasurable generosity and selflessness, she lived her life with others in mind, always placing their needs and happiness above her own. Survived by son, Jeff Winter (Jane); daughter, Michele Winter (Mark Meader); grandchild, Kelsey Bassett (Frank); grandson-in-law, Ben Sparks; great grandchildren, Piper & Krew Sparks; niece, Bonnie Frank (Bob) and grandnieces, Diamond Frank (Sarah) & Electra Frank. Preceded in death by loving husband of 70 years; Reuben Winter; parents, Eugene and Martha Roering; siblings, Jeanette Niewind (Stan); Gene Roering; granddaughter, Katrina Sparks and her beloved animals, Lady, Dutchess & Tiggy. Katie was born on June 6, 1931, in St. Cloud, Minnesota to Eugene and Martha (Schaefer) Roering. She met the love of her life, Reuben, at a young age and the two were soon married. They settled in Shoreview, MN, where they built a beautiful life together and raised their family. Katie and Reuben shared an inseparable bond, celebrating 70 wonderful years of marriage. A devoted member of St. Odilia Catholic Church, Katie actively volunteered her time at various events. Katie also worked at Snyder drug for 30+ years and was a hard worker. She was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother whose greatest joy came from being with those she loved. Katie loved simple things in life; reading, being with family, bingo & trivia nights, desserts, a good movie and sitting by the lake. She was a talented artist and loved to oil paint. She had a special way of seeing beauty in everyday life. Her art will live on through her beautiful paintings her family will cherish forever. She was also an incredibly talented seamstress. She made her grandchildren's Halloween costumes and matching Christmas dresses every year, which were always so beautiful. Family meant everything to her. Whether it was a holiday or just a quick visit, she made every moment count. Her love and kindness touched everyone she knew. She will be deeply missed and always remembered for her big heart, her creativity, and the love she gave so freely. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00AM (visitation begins at 10:00AM) Tuesday, April 29 at St. Odilia Catholic Church, 3495 N. Victoria, Shoreview followed by a luncheon. Interment later that day at 2:20PM in Calvary Cemetery, Cooper Avenue South and 22nd Street South, St. Cloud.
