Karmen Lenore Kahl

Age 82, of New Hope, MN, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 4, 2022 in Brooklyn Park, MN. Karmen was born on May 4, 1939 to Harlan and Lenore Kruger in Minneapolis, MN. She graduated from Patrick Henry High School in 1957 and St. Cloud State in 1961 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and Kindergarten. In July, 1962, she married the love of her life, Herman Kahl. Karmen worked as a teacher for 5 years in the Hopkins school district and 20+ years in the Robbinsdale school district. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing cards, cooking, traveling, and watching her grandchildren's sporting activities. Preceded in death by parents, brother Harley Kruger, and grandson Kyle. She is survived by; husband, Herman; sons, Kraig (Karen) Kahl, and Steven (Debbie) Kahl; grandchildren, Hannah, Sarah, Emma, Nicholas, Lucas, and Maxwell; and sister Pam Kruger (Todd Hamre) and Sister-In-Law Pam (Rasmusson) Kruger. The family will be forever grateful to caregivers at J.A. Wedum and North Memorial Hospice for providing extraordinarily compassionate care the past 3 weeks. Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 20th at 10 AM, at Lakewood Memorial Chapel, 3600 Hennepin Ave, Minneapolis. Visitation one hour prior with interment immediately following the service at Lakewood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to J.A. Wedum Residential Hospice or American Stroke Association.
