Brokl, Julie Gudrun Age 80 of Bloomington, passed away peacefully on 2-16-22 after many years of living with Parkinsons. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy and Peter Kjelwik; and son, Matthew K. Brokl. Survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Kenneth G. Brokl; son Andrew (Laura) Brokl; daughter-inlaw, Andrea Brokl; along with 7 wonderful grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild. Julie graduated from St. Louis Park High in 1959 and later earned her Elementary Teaching degree at the University of MN. She taught preschool for over 12 years at Judson and Joyce Preschool Programs in Minneapolis. Julie later spent 13 years as a Librarian at the Southdale Library in Edina. Her love of books, music, cooking, sewing and teaching were evident in her work, her family, and to those she knew. Julie had a heart of gold and gave her time and talents to play piano at church, deliver "Meals on Wheels", sing in the Minnetonka Symphony Chorus and help as "Mrs. Claus" with Ken playing "Santa" for years on Dayton's 8th floor. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Parkinsons Foundation of MN, 8085 W. Wayzata Blvd #100, Golden Valley, MN 55426. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at 11am with visitation one hour prior at St. Mark's United Church of Christ, 8630 Xerxes Ave. S., Bloomington.
