March 26, 1967 - October 18, 2021
Robinson John B. age 54, of Crystal went to be with the Lord on October 18, 2021. Survived by loving wife of 27 years: Tracey; daughter: Victoria (Ben) Horstmann; son: Zachary Robinson; mother: Virginia Brooks; stepmother: Nancy Robinson; siblings: Don (Kim) Robinson, Rachel (Travis) Roberts, Mike (Brenda) Duke, Charles (Cleopatra) Duke, Deb Duke, Dan Duke and Tammy (Matt) McGuire; many other very special family and friends. Preceded in death by his father Douglas, paternal grandparents and maternal grandparents. John was a fun-loving and thoughtful man. His laugh was loud and contagious. He was extremely generous and always willing to help anyone at any time with anything. He loved networking and getting to know a variety of people. He also had an amazing memory and could easily remember random facts about people he met. This talent made him very good at connecting people with one another when they had needs. Big John Robinson was well known and well liked. John loved his children, Tori and Zach fiercely. He always made time to connect intentionally with each of them, building strong relationships. He prioritized eating dinner together as a family and praying with the kids at bedtime. He loved coaching any sports teams that the kids were involved in and always kept copious stats of all their games. He never quite understood Tori's love of dance and music, but always supported her naturally gifted efforts and was her biggest fan at all dance recitals & musical programs. His intense pride in Zach's natural pitching ability throughout Little League was evident to anyone at a game or practice. We recently welcomed our son-in-law Ben into the family and John was thrilled to have another son with similar interests to share life with. John was a major GTO Muscle Car enthusiast. He was involved heavily in the Land 'O Lakes GTO Club for many years. He also enjoyed collecting GTO cars & parts to sell at swap meets or online. His vast car hobby connections span the USA and even to other countries. His favorite car ever owned was a '69 GTO Ram Air IV Judge. An inheritance from his grandfather gave him the ability to purchase this very rare automobile and he was incredibly proud of it. John enjoyed sports. His passion was playing softball and he managed to play on at least 25 different teams over his adult life. His nickname was Hollywood and his number was always #9. Various injuries never stopped his desire to get right back out on the field. His other favorite sport was NFL Football. His favorite team was the Pittsburgh Steelers, but his real interest in watching all the NFL games was the Fantasy Football implications. He voraciously played 8-10 leagues each year and was the commissioner of many. His love of statistics served him well in this hobby. John was my husband. He stole my heart when I was 19 years old. He was my tall, dark and handsome Prince Charming. We have endured many serious challenges over the years, but have always remained committed to one another. We managed to continue moving forward together, creating lifelong memories and sharing a deep unshakeable love. I will miss him tremendously and look forward to our reunion in Heaven. A Memorial Service for John will be held Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at 11:00am with visitation one hour prior at New Hope Church 4225 Gettysburg Ave N. New Hope 55428. A luncheon will follow the service. Casual attire is encouraged. The service will be live-streamed and can be accessed with the link below: https://vimeo.com/637190729/ea67c50927
