John Thomas Michael Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Michael, John Thomas resident of St. Paul, MN, chose to depart this world on June 30th, 2022, at the age of 51 years-old. Raised in Deephaven, John was a graduate of Minnetonka High School and Augsburg University, where he received his bachelors degree in Marketing. John was a bright light to many and will be remembered for his contagious smile, humor, kindness to others, and warm presence. Most importantly, John will be remembered for his dedication and commitment to the Alcoholics Anonymous community, where he helped many in their sobriety. John loved traveling, the ocean, and warm weather. Additionally, he had a passion for the arts and collecting antiques. Preceded in death by father, Joseph C. Michael Jr; survived by mother, Barbara Michael Baker, step father, David; siblings, Cynthia Foster (George Lancaster), Steve, Scott, Barbara Ruch, Melissa Gregerson (Barry), and Margaret McHugh (Michael); nieces and nephews, Jeff and Jennifer Ruch, Scott Jr., and Sara Michael, and Grace McHugh; Godson, Alexander Stolz; life-long friend, Timothy Stolz; close friend, Brian Dernbach; loving dog and companion, Adler; and many more. A celebration of John's life will be held on Saturday, July 16th at the Washburn- Mcreavy Edina Chapel. Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 p.m., service from 2:00-3:00 p.m., and a reception to follow from 3:00-4:00 p.m. Those wishing to honor John may make a donation to the Greater Minneapolis Intergroup Alcoholics Anonymous.
