James Arden Negaard Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of James "Jim" Negaard of Bloomington, MN on June 20, 2022 at the age of 83. Survived by his son Steven (Tara) Negaard; daughter Sandra (Dan) Fatland; stepchildren Eric (Meredith) Dean and Kristie (Duane) Dean; his eight grandchildren, Jason, Joseph, Sarah, Layne, Ryker, Phoenix, Reid and Aspen; and his four great grandchildren, Jason, Alexis, Trinity and Adrian; siblings, Stanley (Lori) Negaard, Diane (Donald) Vonderharr and many other relatives and friends. Proceded in death by his sister Janet Negaard and parents Selmer and Mildred Negaard. Jim was born on January 15, 1939, in Canby, MN, son to Selmer and Mildred Negaard. He grew up in Canby, MN on a farm with his three siblings and graduated from Madison High School, Madison, MN in 1956. After graduating he enlisted in the National Guard Reserve from 1957-1963. He moved to Minneapolis, MN in 1963 where he started a job with Sully's Food Truck. Jim eventually started his long-time career for Hennepin County where he retired after 32 years of employment. In his free time, he loved to hunt, fish and camp and enjoyed most of his summers camping up north. He loved watching his Western movies and reading the paper. Jim truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; chatting with friends and family, snacking and spending time with the grandchildren. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 16, 11AM with visitation 1 hour prior to service at: Washburn-McRevy Werness Brothers Chapel at 2300 W. Old Shakopee Rd, Bloomington MN 55431.
