Helen Hennek, age 96, of Brooklyn Park, MN passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at her home surrounded by loved ones. Helen was born on May 7, 1925 in St. Anna, MN to Stanis and Frances (Goltz) Morgel. On October 26, 1943, she married Roman and they lived on the Hennek family homestead where they raised 7 children. Helen worked at St. John's University in food service from 1967-1987. When she retired, she moved to Brooklyn Park. Helen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roman; son, Richard; grand-daughter, Sarah; brothers, Roman, Ted, Louie, Jerome; sisters, Vickie Langner, Martha Kierzek, Cecelia Severson. She is survived by her children, Theresa (Roy) Peterson, Jean (Christopher) Viger, Rachael Hennek, Bev (Mike) Temple, Cindy Carlson, Michael Hennek; grandchildren, Scott Peterson, Amber (Shannon) Schultz, Michelle (Riley) Thomas, Troy (Robin) Peterson, Juley (Ryan) Speed, Justin (Kristin) Viger, Robert (Amanda) Hennek, Emily (Jeff) Hennek, Amanda (Nathan) Greathouse; great grandchildren, Cody & Callen Schultz, Wesley Peterson, Olivia & Lilly Thomas, Blake & Siri Viger; sisters, Sophie (Bob) Ross & Rose (Paul) March; and many nieces and nephews. Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, April 11 at 11 AM, visitation one hour prior, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 7025 Halifax Ave. N, Brooklyn Center, MN. Burial will take place at a later date at Immaculate Conception Church in St. Anna, MN.
