Gerald "Jerry" Boxsted
July 19, 1938 - May 19, 2022
Gerald "Jerry" Boxsted, son of Herman and Elsie Boxsted, was born and raised in South Minneapolis. Following his high school graduation, Jerry enlisted in the Army. He was stationed in Germany and had many fond memories of his time there. He was employed in the manufacturing industry working his way up from assembly to inspection, spending the last 19 years of his career as a Quality Assurance Analyst. Jerry looked forward to yearly family vacations to northern Minnesota where he enjoyed fishing, taking in the beauty and simply spending time with his family. One of the highlights of Jerry's summers was cutting his lawn, and in later years, riding his John Deere lawn tractor. Family and friends have always been a great source of happiness for Jerry from a family bowling team, golf league and bocce ball. He was proud of his daughters and grandchildren's accomplishments. He enjoyed family holidays, special milestones and events. Jerry will be missed by his loving wife of 59 years, Mary Jo, daughters, Barb (Brian) Gebhart, Connie (Mark) Kreuser, Patty (Dan) Kreuser. Grandchildren Miranda, Abby, Luke, Joe, Johnny, Tina, Nick, Katie and Adam, four great grandsons and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was greeted into heaven by parents Herman and Elsie, brother Harold and sister June. Visitation is Friday June 3, 2022 from 10-11 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 a.m. Church of St. Edward, 9401 Nesbitt Ave S., Bloomington, MN 55437 Donations are preferred to The National Kidney Foundation or donor's choice.
