George Frederick Kuehner

Dr. George F. Kuehner, age 97 passed away peacefully on Oct. 2, 2021. George was born on March 9, 1924 to Rev. and Mrs. C. Wm. A. Kuehner in Winthrop, MN. He attended St. Olaf College, University of Dubuque, Northwestern University, and received his DDS from Chicago Loyola University in 1948. He was married to Arlene Antramian in 1951. Dr. Kuehner practiced dentistry in New Ulm, MN from 1948 to 1950 until being called into Naval Service during the Korean War. He served at various Naval Bases in California and spent one year in Korea with the 1st Marine Division and attained the rank of Lieutenant Commander. He returned to New Ulm where he continued his dental practice until retiring in 1989. He was inducted into the scholastic dental fraternity Omicron Kappa Upsilon and into the International College of Dentists. He was an active member of the New Ulm community. He served as member and chairman of the New Ulm Housing and Redevelopment Authority and the Public Utilities Commission. He was very involved in Redeemer Lutheran Church, New Ulm Lions Club, and Lions Club International. He also served on the Board of Directors of Citizens Bank of Minnesota for 25 years. He resided in New Ulm until 1999 when he moved to the Twin Cities to be closer to family. George was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed golf, bowling and following Minnesota sports. He was preceded in death by Arlene, his wife of 52 years. He is survived by his son, George W. (Audrea) Kuehner; daughter, Kathleen Kuehner; and grandchildren, Allison (Robert) Kuehner Mutschler, and Brian Kuehner. Funeral service will be held at 11AM with visitation one hour prior on Saturday, October 16th at St. Michael's Lutheran Church, 9201 Normandale Blvd., Bloomington.
