Eric James Simmons

September 15, 1982 - February 22, 2022

Eric James Simmons (1982-2022) Eric was a champion of the simple things in life: good music, good food, good conversation. He loved his family and friends dearly, and cherished time spent over a cup of coffee, discussing life and offering insightful (and usually unsolicited) advice. He was a gifted writer and musician with a knack for knowing just the right song to play, and an avid reader who could work a Tolkien quote into any conversation. This one sums Eric up: "There is more in you of good than you know... Some courage and some wisdom, blended in measure. If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world." We invite you to a celebration of Eric's life on Sunday, March 6th, 2022 at 1:00pm with visitation beginning at 12:00pm at Washburn-McReavy Bloomington Chapel, 2300 W. Old Shakopee Road, Bloomington. Interment at Bloomington Cemetery. Eric was an incredible listener who loved to hear people's stories. He was preceded in death by grandmother Patricia and grandfather Frederick Simmons, grandmother Eloise and grandfather Tilman Clemetson, uncle David Simmons, uncle Tom Simmons, aunt Susan Gilles, and cousin Thomas Eastridge.
