Edward Anthony Lohnes

Lohnes, Edward Anthony Age 73 of Ham Lake passed away Feb. 6, 2022. Preceded in death by parents, Edward Aaron and Eunice Viola (nee Scott) Lohnes; sister, Diane K. Lohnes; brother-in-law, Jeffrey Plaster. As a youngster he frequented the Margaret Berry House where he participated in the Golden Glove Boxing Program. He was a DeLaSalle High School graduate and a proud Marine Corps Vietnam Veteran. His lifework was helping people. He worked at the Department of Human Rights as an investigator. He was a job developer at American Indian OIC and in his last job he was a case manager helping clients with HIV/AIDS. He was the chairman of the board of the Diversity Foundation of MN and helped start the distribution of toys to Native American Reservations bringing gifts to thousands of children through the Toys for Tots Program. Eddy's greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Josephine; sisters, Darlene Johnson (Don Frahm), Florence Saros, Kimberly Lohnes (Fred Wiles), Maria Plaster and a host of nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held at the Washburn-McReavy NE Chapel, 2901 Johnson St NE, Mpls 4-8 PM on Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2022. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2022 at 11 AM in the Church of St. Charles Borromeo, 2739 Stinson Pkwy, St, Anthony, MN with visitation 1 hour prior to Mass at church.
