Edward Barton Chapin, Jr

February 10, 1947 - February 3, 2022

Chapin, Edward Barton Jr. "Chip" age 74, passed on at home February 3, 2022. A life-long resident of the Twin Cities he is preceded in death by parents Olyn K. and Edward Chapin. He held a degree in business from the University of Minnesota before a career as a business consultant and fundraiser. He was a member of the Christian Science Church and was active there and with Scouting. He was a dynamic presence always ready to help, contribute, advise, and support. A dedicated supporter of the BSA and Scouting programs, he raised tens of thousands of dollars for the Northern Star Council. He was recognized with the national Silver Beaver service award. He was a supportive friend and advisor, and a tireless community presence for both individuals and causes. He is survived by his twin brother Charley, children Jennifer Chapin Lake (Jeremy), Bart (Christi), Charlie, and five grandchildren. Donations can be made in his honor to the Northern Star Council, Scouts USA, or Beacon Haven, Christian Science Nursing. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 9th at 11AM at Washburn-McReavy Davies Chapel, 2301 Dupont Avenue S. Minneapolis, MN 55405. Visitation beginning at 10AM.
